Criminal Investigation Division

The Cleburne Police Department CID unit is supervised by Sgt. Danny Rogers.  The seven member unit conducts in depth follow up investigations involving crimes against persons and / or property.  Preliminary investigations are conducted and reported by patrol officers.  The reports are forwarded to CID.  The reports are carefully reviewed by the supervisor and assigned to an investigator depending on the investigator’s expertise.

Crimes investigated by CID include:

·      Murder
·      Assault
·      Sexual offenses
·      Robbery
·      Theft
·      Burglary
·      
Auto theft
·      Drug related crimes
·      Financial crimes
·      Crimes involving juveniles as suspect and/or
     victims


Members of the CID unit are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and are frequently called out/or notified in connection with major crimes.  They conduct interviews of victims and witnesses, locate evidence, recover stolen property, and conduct interrogations of suspects and accomplices.  They execute search and arrest warrants and make arrests. They prepare and complete the paperwork required to successfully file criminal cases with the County and District Attorneys. 

They work closely with the prosecutors and court system to assure a successful prosecution of the case.   They testify in court in relation to their investigation.   Each member of the unit receives extensive specialized training to assist them in conducting in depth investigations.
ABOUT SGT. DANNY ROGERS

Sgt. Rogers joined the Cleburne Police Department in February 1987.  After several years in patrol he was assigned to work undercover investigations and narcotics.  Later, he was assigned to CID where he was promoted to Sergeant in 2001.  He is a former SWAT Team supervisor.  Sgt. Rogers supervises the daily operations in CID and carries a caseload of active criminal investigations.  He has the training and expertise in all types of investigations.
