Social Security cards and Birth Certificates are required on all members of household upon submission of application. A picture ID is also required on all household members aged 18 and older. A criminal history will be conducted on all family members aged 18 and over. Warning: If you commit fraud to obtain assisted housing, you could be:
- Evicted from your apartment or house
- Required to repay all overpaid rental assistance you receive
- Fined up to $10,000
- Imprisoned for up to five years
- Prohibited from receiving future assistance
- Subject to State and local government penalties
Report Fraud
If you know of anyone who provided false information on a housing assistance application or recertification or if anyone tells you to provide false information, report that person to the Housing Office at 817-645-0937, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
