PROCLAMATION POLICY


1.  A written proclamation must be submitted to the City Secretary's office at least two weeks prior to the scheduled presentation.  (The City Secretary's office will format your text onto the City’s Proclamation Certificate.)

2.  It is preferred to have the proclamation presented at a City Council Meeting.

3.  If you wish the Mayor to present the proclamation at an event, the City Secretary's office will contact the Mayor to see if he is available or if another date could be scheduled.  If not, the City Secretary's office will contact one of the Council members for the presentation.

4. The person responsible for the proclamation must contact the press for pictures if not being presented at a council meeting.

Additional Instructions:

Because of the volume of requests received, incomplete forms will not be processed nor will proclamations be handled over the telephone.  It is the responsibility of the citizen(s) requesting the proclamation to provide complete information at least 2 weeks before the event.
