Traffic Unit


                     TRAFFIC UNIT

The Cleburne Police Traffic Unit consists of three motorcycle officers under the command of the Patrol Division Commander.  The officers must complete a prescribed training course for motorcycle officers.  The officers receive specialize training in traffic law, accident investigation, and accident reconstruction.











The Traffic Unit is responsible for identifying traffic problems throughout the City. Once the problems have been identified the unit develops a plan to reduce or eliminate the problem. Five primary areas of focus are speeding in school zones, accident reduction, occupant protection, DUI, and speed related problems on City streets.

GOALS:

    To ensure the safety and well being of the motoring public in Cleburne by reducing injuries, deaths and economic losses resulting from motor vehicle accidents.
    To enhance citizen education, understanding, and satisfaction of police traffic services.
    To deter crime through increased presence and visibility in the community and through the apprehension of criminals by utilizing police vehicles in the most efficient, pertinent, and safe manner possible.



Other Duties Include:

*  Special events coordination, parades, escorts, etc;

*  Parking enforcement
